Alpha Release 1 (v0.0.1)

July 18, 2024.

I am pleased to announce the first alpha release of Dwarvish. This is
the very first alpha release. As such, the road to feature parity with
more mature shells (i.e. bash, zsh) is still a long one. Please
subscribe to the anno@xxxxxxxxxxxx mailing list, if you would like to be
kept apprised of updates. Also, please note that the format and content
of this announcement is very likely to change over the course of the
development cycle.

The shell is generally usable, however, it does lack some basic
functionaly. Most notably:
  - no flow control (if/case/loops),
  - no variables (except when exporting environment variables),
  - no history,
  - no in-line navigation,
  - no tab autocomplete,
  - no support for wildcards (*, **),
  - and, no dynamic $PS1 interpreter.
The list above is obviously incomplete, but inclues some of the most
common use cases for a shell, which are likely to be addressed within
the next few alpha releases.

Thanks for tuning in!
